Business English for Careers
Business English for Careers is for employees or students who require intermediate and
advanced Business English to get the first job in the international English-speaking business
community or get the first promotion or to enter a business school.
The Business English for Careers program is designed for individuals or small groups.
The Business English for Careers program is designed to provide training in Toronto,
Canada and is also offered to companies or groups in Europe, Asia and South America.
Business English for Careers includes business theory and business vocabulary:
formal business English and informal business idioms and expressions, business conversations
including formal introductions, inquiries, discussions, negotiations, informal business conversations,
business specialties economics, finance, accounting, marketing, sales, advertising,
communications, logistics, production, manufacturing, transportation, packaging and environmental practices.
Business training includes presentation skills, report writing, public speaking, letter
writing, business presentations, sales presentations, product introductions, writing
press releases, writing public relations articles, power point presentations, creating
web pages, creating and updating blogs and internet research.
Canadian American British cultural awareness and office protocol are also included in the classroom sessions.
Field trips help students get used to business life and business situations in the English
speaking workplace.
Teaching materials are about 20% Market Leader business audio and video vocabulary from
business cases, about 40% from trade magazines, business correspondence and industry
periodicals, about 20% from daily business newspapers, and about 20% from skills text books
which includes communications, writing, and business skill specialties.
Business topics will last one week. Students can study economics, finance, accounting,
marketing, sales, advertising, communications, logistics, production, manufacturing,
transportation, packaging and environmental practices.
Groups are given free English language skill level assessments.
Students can study 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 4 weeks or up to 14 weeks. The programs is
designed to be 25 hours each week with some extra field trips and class meetings.

Business English Communications Certificate
The Certificate in Business English Communications (240 hours) provides adult learners
with written, oral, and computer-based communication skills.
Instruction focuses on the practical and necessary skills needed for successful English
communication in the contemporary workplace. The certificate is flexible and accommodates
a broad spectrum of professional interests.
Levels: Intermediate 2 to Advanced 2
English through Media and Marketing Certificate
The Certificate in English through Media and Marketing (360 hours) provides adult
learners with an overview of general business English, business practices, written and
computer-based media forms, and marketing strategies.
Instruction focuses on the dynamic world of print media, advertising, market analysis
and market planning.
Levels: Intermediate 2 to Advanced 2
English through Business Management Certificate
The Certificate in English through Business Management (240 hours) provides adult learners with an overview of general business English, business practices, business management, and human resources.
Instruction focuses on strengthening business writing, presentation, meetings, negotiation and listening skills. Gain an understanding of Management and Human Resources within its global framework.
Levels: Intermediate 3 to Advanced 2
International Business English Certificate
The Certificate in International Business English provides adult learners with an
overview of international business practices and business management.
Instruction focuses on strengthening business writing, presentation, meeting and
negotiation and listening skills. Through this program, students will gain an
understanding of international business within its global framework.
Levels: Intermediate 4 to Advanced 2
English through Hospitality Management Certificate
The Certificate in English through Hospitality Management (240 hours) provides adult
learners with an overview of general business English, business practices, business
management, and human resources, travel, hospitality, and convention management.
Instruction focuses on strengthening communication skills in the areas of business
writing, presentation, meeting and negotiation skills while opening a door to the
exciting industry of Travel and Hospitality Management
Levels: Intermediate 3 to Advanced 2

3. Mandarin Chinese Language Lessons for April 2008
Mandarin Chinese language classes are a real benefit to teachers, tourists or business professionals
traveling to China for business, study or tours.
Special April 2008 small group price is $485 for three months.
Special April 2008 one-to-one private class price is $35.

4. Free English in Exchange for translations work
ESL in Canada is updating the international language pages and requires translations of
index pages and FAQs pages into Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, German,
Italian, French, Arabic, Urdu, and many others.
Students must have a laptop computer with wireless access and special characters to be able to
create basic text documents. Please use the TLC language exchange form to register.
